Publication Ethics
The Jurnal Pengolahan Pangan is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. Authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers are expected to follow the ethical standards as outlined below. This statement is based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
1. Duties of Editors

Fair Play: Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their intellectual content, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.

Confidentiality: Editors must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or the editorial board.

Publication Decisions: Editors are responsible for deciding which articles will be published, based on the manuscript’s validity, importance, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Conflict of Interest: Editors should not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted paper for their own research purposes without the author’s explicit written consent.
2. Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and may help authors improve their manuscripts.

Confidentiality: Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.

Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively and observations clearly expressed with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.

Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
3. Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards: Authors must present an accurate account of the work performed and an objective discussion of its significance.

Originality and Plagiarism: Authors should ensure that their work is entirely original and that proper citations are given when using others’ work.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.

Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.

Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All authors should disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, it is their obligation to promptly notify the editor or publisher and cooperate in correcting or retracting the paper.
4. Duties of the Publisher

The publisher ensures that good practice and ethical standards are maintained.

The publisher works closely with editors and authors to prevent misconduct, including plagiarism and data fabrication.

The publisher supports the journal in maintaining academic integrity and transparency.
5. Ethical Oversight
Any form of unethical behavior or malpractice identified at any stage of publication (submission, review, or after publication) will be investigated and dealt with appropriately, following COPE flowcharts and guidelines.
